Note: The times I posted are not exact but we try to stay on schedule. Knowing that they have already had a full day of learning I try to make my learning activities short, fun and informative. I also try to do things that they can work on individually throughout a set period of time. Ex: read a book and do a book report of choice. Complete a power point, craft project, report or collage on unit study material. I give them a week or two if needed and they work on it on their own and present it to the family. I really try to put an emphasis on choices, something they don't really get at school. I also offer incentives for finished projects.
P.S. This is an ideal schedule not to be confused with our real schedule which is different from day to day. I think it is very important to come up with a set schedule but I think it is more important to be flexible and not get discouraged if things are not working out ideally.
